Thomas J. Petrelli

Thomas J. Petrelli, Jr. was born in the suburbs of Philadelphia and built his legal experience across several states along the East Coast. He received a Juris Doctor from the Vermont Law School, an LLM in Trial Advocacy from Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, a Master's of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School, and a BBA from attending University of Kentucky and later Temple University.

Before merging with general practice firm Sacks Weston, Mr. Petrelli was the managing partner of Petrelli Law, P.C., where he focused on cases of divorce and family law. He has helped families of all shapes and sizes overcome the difficult legal matters that arise with divorce, including child custody, parental rights, child support, premarital agreements, and estate planning. He has worked to increase online access to simple legal procedures, including no-fault divorces, flash immigration, and pre-nuptial agreements via web access, and is a recurring guest speaker on divorce and family law at the People’s Law School.

Mr. Petrelli began his career practicing Environmental Litigation and Insurance Law in Pennsylvania. He then expanded his knowledge to include Real Estate and Environmental Litigation in New Jersey, and helped shape environmental policy and regulations while working for the Clean Air Council. He is still active in community education, speaking on real estate issues at national conferences and maintaining a regular blog on life insurance law for the public benefit.

Thomas J. Petrelli, Jr. has received several national and peer-reviewed awards, including recognition from Pennsylvania Super Lawyers’ in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, Suburban Life Magazine’s Awesome Attorneys: Divorce and Family Law in 2010, he was awarded 10 Rating By AVVO and was voted one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Northeast by Arrival Magazine in 2010 and 2011. He is an active member of the Family Law section of the American Bar Association, the Family Law and Real Estate sections of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Family Law section of the New Jersey Bar Association. He is often recognized for his ability to find creative legal solutions that work for his clients on a case-by-case basis.
